Note: [This post was originally called July Smorgasblog: Tempus Fugit. Isn’t that ironic, doncha think?]

Summer started late for me this year due to ice and snow days during the school year. Now Fall is behind me and a weird winter’s weather has arrived. 67 degrees at 6 p.m yesterday in Bellingham. Expecting flooding in the area today after the early snow on the first weekend of November. Sorry to have not gotten posts done or a newsletter mailed! Here’s what’s up. Lots of things I’m thankful for.

  1. I’m thankful for my kids and their partners and kids, my parents, my sibs and all the other real and chosen family that surround me.
  2. I’m thankful for a reading at University Bookstore-Mill Creek this Saturday with most of the crew from the Village Books reading two weeks ago: Raven Oak, Jennifer Brozek, Selah J. Taysong, yer’s truly, Jesikah Sundin.
  3. I’m thankful for Village Books and their support. You can now order ALL three of my novels, personally signed, and shipped for the cost of the books and only $0.99 postage and handling for as many books as you want! Great holiday gifts. If you want a personalized note, I can do that, too! Make a note in the checkout comments and I’ll run over and sign ’em.
  4. I’m thankful for the Whatcom County Library System for their support of my crazy INDIE AUTHOR Challenge, Librarathon in October. They now have copies of all three of my books in their system!
  5. I’m thankful for NaNoWriMo and some new words on Book III of the Deserted Lands Trilogy – NO MAN’S LAND. I’m gathering gear for my End of the World Prize packs leading up to the release of NO MAN’S LAND.

    All Is Silence in translation.

  6. I’m thankful for getting THREE translations; French, Italian and Spanish of ALL IS SILENCE and the TOILS AND SNARES/OUTWARD BOUND Flipbook released.
  7. I’m thankful for my day job and the staff and students who challenge me to be better at what I do. I love teaching Spanish. I’m also grateful that I can work a little less than full time.
  8. I’m thankful for the carpentery/JoaT skills that enabled me to help my partner get her house ready for sale so we can buy a place in the country in between our two jobs! I’m also grateful to be able to do some real design/architectural drawing to plan what we’ll do to improve it.
  9. I’m thankful for the fans and the other writers who are helping me become a better writer, promoter, publisher, and presenter.
  10. I’m thankful for the amazing books I’ve read recently: Spencer G. Ellsworth’s A Red Peace, Randy Henderson’s Finn Fancy Necromancy, Cory Doctorow’s Walkaway, Springsteen’s Born to Run, and C.C. Humphrey’s Shakespeare’s Rebel.
  11. And last, but not least, I’m thankful for a nearly endless supply of ideas to write about. Hoping to have time to write as many of them as I can.

What are you thankful for?
